Only 40 days until we go to Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Viet Nam with our friends, Linda Armstrong, Mark Raderstorf, Louise Delagran, Dave Schaenzer, Randi Yoder and Michael Henley. We planned the trip together, searching for tour providers and then providing input to develop a trip that would be educational, recreational and meet the needs of our entire group. Not a small task! We decided to work with Selective Asia. They have been very helpful and have planned a trip that we are all happy about.
We received our shots. We had to get the malaria shots due to the areas we will be in, however we had choices about the rabies shot and the Japanese encephalitis. I chose to get the latter shot and we both forewent the rabies. We also had to secure visas. Thailand doesn't require visas and Laos provides visas upon landing. We had to send for visa approvals from Cambodia and Vietnam Nam, which we received within 3 days.
We leave from Minneapolis to Detroit and from there we fly to Seoul, Korea. We take a flight from Seoul to Bangkok, Thailand and arrive a day early before the tour begins. Beth's friend is a flight attendant with Delta and hopes to bid the trip, which would be an added bonus on the flight. Beth's quilting friend, Rochelle and her co- worker Joanie bid for our trip over so that will be fun being on the same flight.
